In 2019, there are an estimated 4,000 special economic zones (SEZ) in the world. This includes special economic zones, free trade zones, export-processing zones, industrial parks, economic and technology development zones, high-tech zones, science and innovation parks, free ports, enterprise zones, and many more denominations.
